FINE PAIR of BLACK FOREST HAND CARVED. LINDEN WOOD CAT'S HEAD NUTCRACKERS. This is a superb pair of Black Forest hand carved Linden Wood Cat's head nutcrackers, made in, or near the Swiss city Biernz Switzerland dating to, I would guess, the early 20th.

It is depicted as a beautifully hand carved sculptural cat's head on scissor type grips - see photographs and details. They measures 8" (20cm) L x 2 1/4" (6.5cm) W (across his face) approx; and are in excellent condition, with no defect to report apart from lightest wear consistent with its age- see photographs. This is a wonderful piece of period Black Forest carving which is in great condition and with a low start price should get considerable interest from all collectors. THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS SALE. Almost everything I sell is in the condition I have bought it, unless otherwise stated, (I have learnt to my cost in the past not to tamper with an item), and therefore I have neither had items repaired nor restored.
